Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (VOLATILITY INDEX) (5-2) - Lightly-raced and talented, filly is one of two entered by trainer Chad Brown and the pair race uncoupled. She's won two of her three starts and was beaten a 'neck' in the final stride in her lone loss. Working fast, she has the best early speed, and 4-year-old is the day's Best Bet.
nd pick: #2 (Penjade) (4-1) - The second of the Brown fillies, French import rallied from far back to score by a 'nose' at this distance in a first-level allowance May 10 at Belmont. It was her first start since Dec. 31 and 4-year-old was sharp in both starts at Saratoga last summer. Win candidate, she completes a strong hand from trainer Brown.
rd pick: #5 (Pricedtoperfection) (9-2) - Stakes winner is making her first start since late September. Formerly with Chad Brown, she runs off a private trainer switch to Graham Motion who is 12 for 48 (25%) with new arrivals and 17% off of long layoffs. Working well at Fair Hill in western Maryland, she's a late threat if ready.
th pick: #6 (Gioia Stella) (6-1) - Daughter of 'Medaglia d'Oro' cost a whopping $1,500,000 as a yearling back in the fall of 2014. She has more early speed than most and moves back to the grass after tiring badly in an 'off the turf' contest on a sloppy surface in her seasonal debut May 5 at Belmont. Her ability to race close p is a plus.
th pick: #7 (Browse) (10-1) - Beautifully bred filly had some serious traffic issues in her grass debut June 22 at Belmont. Lightly-raced 4-year-old still has potential and it's noted that John Velazquez is aboard for the first time.
