Top pick: #1 (Entry of 1-COUSIN MICHAEL & 1a-INDY TUNE) (3-1) - Only one half of this Dave Jacobson trained entry will run, and I'll take either as my top pick. "Michael" has gone 5-2-3-0 since Jacobson claimed him in mid-March, and stalker draws the best post at this nine-furlong trip. "Indy Tune" can "run all day" and enters off a career best figure last out at Belmont in his first off a Jacobson claim.
2nd pick: #5 (Fiona's Hero) (7-2) - He looked very sharp when defeating mid-level starter-allowance foes going a mile at Belmont on July 2. A bit of an "in and outer," he's gone 6-2-0-1 this year, and his best "figures" make him a win threat.
3rd pick: #3 (Saturday Appeal) (8-1) - Gelding ran by far a career best "figure" when winning a state-bred entry-level allowance at Belmont on June 13. Working well since, and speed/stalker must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #6 (Sir Leslie) (7-2) - Home bred has improved noticeably this year (6-2-2-1), and one run type enters in career best form. He missed by a "nose' at this level at Belmont on June 21, and is a threat if he brings that recent form to the "Spa."
