Top pick: #4 (MOONWALK) (6-1) - Lightly-raced daughter of "Malibu Moon" is making her third start back off an eight month layoff and appears to be racing herself into shape for trainer Dale Romans. A stakes winner on the grass last year at age two, she also ran well in the "Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies" (G1) in early Nov. before going in for the long layoff.
2nd pick: #2 (With Sugar On Top) (10-1) - Longshot had trouble at the start and had a very wide trip when beaten 3 1/2 lengths on this course July 20th in a $100K stakes. Darley home-bred is beautifully-bred, moves to a good inside post, and is a win candidate at a big price.
3rd pick: #3 (Free as a Bird) (3-1) - Much improved since trainer Ian Wilkes moved her to the grass, daughter of "Hard Spun" has gone 6-2-2-1 since then and comes off a strong second-place effort at this level on Aug. 1.
4th pick: #6 (Viva Rafaela) (7-2) - Brazilian import ran well here at this level and distance July 31st in her first since Nov. 10, first in the North America, and first for Todd Pletcher. Strong factor with a bit of improvement.
