Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (WIZARDLY) (4-1) - Strong finisher runs today first of a Rich Schosberg claim. He comes back a month later as a NEW gelding and with a sharp half mile work here Aug 8. Javier Castellano stays aboard and this gelding has a good shot at a square price.
2nd pick: #4 (Don Dulce) (3-1) - Wonderful old timer has been to the winner's circle nine times and has banked $635,000. However, he's racing off an 11 month layoff and that's always a concern. That's the negative. Positives are he's working fast and veteran Bruce Levine has leading rider Irad Ortiz Jr. aboard.
3rd pick: #5 (Derby Glass) (10-1) - He enters in fine form and is racing first off a Steve Asmussen claim (16%). Working well and he has the best early speed of this group. That's always dangerous in these two-turn nine-furlong contests at Saratoga. Longshot is a win candidate.
4th pick: #1a (Indycott) (5-1) - Originally part of a Dave Jacobson trained entry with #1 'Transparent,' he scratched that runner (who I think would have won this) and has this less talented veteran going it alone. A contender despite that fact.
