Top pick: #2 (TAKE DOWN TWO) (4-1) - This race is filled with tough veteran claimers that have 67 wins between them and almost $3M in earnings. This veteran is racing first off a Sydney Dutrow claim and a subsequent 5-week freshening. Strong finisher has finished second in two straight starts and has a superior record on "off" tracks 17-6-5-3. There's plenty of speed to set things up for him, and I like his chances.
2nd pick: #4 (Immortal Eyes) (8-1) - Very fast from the gate, he's slipped considerably of late after going 10-6-2-0 in 2013 while winning four sprint stakes. Drops to a new low today and he's dangerous with his best.
3rd pick: #3 (Dr Disco) (12-1) - He just missed here at this tag going 7-furlongs on Aug. 9. It was his second big effort in a row and veteran New York bred was claimed that afternoon by Gary Contessa. New barn brings him back in six days and he must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #1 (Sense of Peace) (9-2) - The main speed, he has the rail and just missed here at this level and distance on Aug. 4. Claimed that day by Neal Terraciano, he brings him back quickly at the purchase price.
