Red hot barn shortens him up in distance and has him in with open company this afternoon. Capable at this seven furlong distance, he won here at it just under a year ago. Gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #7 (Scarly Charly) (9-2) - Veteran has a speed/stalking style and July 16 at Belmont he miss by a 1/2 length at this level and distance at Belmont Park. Very consistent 7-year-old has run well here in the past and is a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Gray Sky) (15-1) - Longshot finished an even and troubled fourth here going nine furlongs in a first-level allowance July 23. Three-year-old has talent and broke his maiden last November at Churchill Downs in his only previous attempt at this trip. Son of 'Tapit' cost $700,000 and think he can grab a share at a big price.
4th pick: #2 (Second City) (8-1) - Old timer raced evenly July 16 at Belmont after a very poor break. He was six lengths in back of 'Scarly Charly' that day and stretch runner may get a minor award with an alert beginning.
