Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (MIZZEN MAX) (5-1) - One of two entered by trainer Michelle Nevin and the pair race uncoupled. Lightly-raced 4yo has been sharp in every start 6-3-3-0 and New York-bred is training fast locally for her first since May 27. She's facing tougher but grey filly can step up and win at a square price.
2nd pick: #7 (Critique) (3-1) - Daughter of 'Midnight Lute' has been on the sidelines since Oct. 8 when she raced both wide and evenly in a rather poor effort in the one-mile Frizette Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park. She had broken her maiden here Sept. 4, is training fast locally, and she's from the barn of Todd Pletcher (32% off of lengthy absences).
3rd pick: #5 (Shimmering Moon) (6-1) - The second of the Michelle Nevin trained pair, veteran mare won here last year and enters off a 'neck' loss at this level and distance in an 'off the turf' contest at Belmont June 28. Three of her last four works are of the bullet type and daughter of 'Malibu Moon' should receive a fast/and or contested pace to close into.
4th pick: #3 (Isotope) (10-1) - Longshot has finished fourth at this level in two straight at Belmont and she won here last year facing weaker. 4yo is a bit 'light' on figures and believe a minor award at a big price is her ceiling at this point.
