Top pick: #1 (ALSTOM) - Interesting runner spent the first 7 starts of his career racing well in the midwest facing "open" company and was competitive in a pair of stakes earlier this year, one each at Oaklawn and Churchill. Colt ran evenly in a grass contest in his local debut August 5th. Has a fine work since, draws the rail, and trainer Wayne Lukas has him set up for a top effort as son of "Silver Train" moves back to the dirt.
2nd pick: #6 (Socialsaul) - He's won three in a row, and last out was an easy winner at Finger Lakes in the $159K New York Derby. Race was his first around two-turns and he's comeback with three solid local works. He'd be no surprise.
3rd pick: #7 (Preachintothedevil) - He's an uncoupled barn-mate of "Saul" and finished a distant 2nd to him in the New York Derby. He's (5-3-1-1) when racing against fellow New York-breds and will sneak away at a nice price today.
4th pick: #9 (Sailmate) - Very lightly raced, he's improving with each start and last out was a sharp winner in fast time at Belmont going a mile. Working nicely locally, he has good positional speed and will be trying a two-turn distance for the first time.
