Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #11 (MOCKERY) (7-2) - Nice debut here Aug. 6 saw Godolphin runner rally while very wide to finish a close up 3rd going 5.5 furlongs. She's worked twice since, stretches out to seven furlongs, and draws a nice outside post from the chute.
2nd pick: #1 (More Mojo) (4-1) - Grey filly draws the rail for the second straight time. $325,000 daughter of 'More Than Ready' finished 3rd here July 21 going 5.5 furlongs, and trainer Brad Cox had her work four times during the month of August. The rail at this trip is a bit tricky, but she's a contender if able to avoid any traffic in the first 1/4 mile.
3rd pick: #8 (Pink Sands) (5-2) - Daughter of 'Tapit' sold for $625,000 right here a year ago as a Saartoga Select Yearling. Working very fast, trainer 'Shug' McGaughey has Javier Castellano aboard. Barn is not noted for first out success, but there are exceptions to every rule. Dangerous if she runs to her a.m. drills.
4th pick: #2 (Miss Aliphant) (8-1) - One of two entered by trainer Jeremiah Englehart, and the pair race uncoupled. Filly enters off three very fast works including, a bullet half-mile Aug. 14, best of 83 at the distance that morning.
5th pick: #9 (Indy Union) (5-1) - The second of the Enghehart pair, she's stretching out in distance after checking in a very wide 4th here when debuting going 5.5 furlongs July 27. Working above average since, it's noted that leading rider Jose Ortiz stays aboard.
