Top pick: #5 (POINT OF ENTRY) - Price play is another beautifully-bred runner from the famous Phipps Stable and is improving rapidly at this point. Son of "Dynaformer" was an easy maiden winner May 18 at Belmont in a switched contest at this distance, and last out ran second there facing weaker in his first ever on the turf. A near bullet work six days ago signals he's ready to go and he can take this Curlin S. at a nice price.
2nd pick: #1 (Bold Warrior) - Has the rail and plenty of early speed to utilize. Colt by "Bernardini" caught a tough runner when debuting and fell 3/4s of a length short. He's won his last pair with ease and has done so on the front end. In the barn of "Hall of Famer" H. Allen Jerkens and he's got his set up nicely for his first ever beyond 7 furlongs. Very tough in this spot and I almost put him on top.
3rd pick: #3 (Raison d'Etat) - He's by a champion stallion (A.P. Indy) and is out of champion filly (Sightseek). Colt looked super when destroying a group of maidens at Belmont June 18 and trainer Bill Mott has given him six weeks to recover. Working steadily, and we'll find out a lot more about this promising 3-year-old in this small stakes.
