Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (QUEEN MEDB) (3-1) - This Irish import has been freshened up since finishing 2nd at this level and distance June 6 at Belmont Park. 3yo is one of two entered by Chad Brown, and the pair race uncoupled. He's worked her locally six times since June 19, and I give her a slight edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Confessing) (7-2) - This daughter of 'Scat Daddy' sold for $875,000 as a 2yo in training in March of 2018. Unraced until last month, she finished 3rd of 10, beaten just over three lengths at this level and distance June 29 at Churchill Downs. Only her second start, it was her first on the grass and a big move forward off her debut there on a sloppy surface June 8.
3rd pick: #9 (Aymara) (8-1) - This longshot has been freshened up since May 3 when she finished a wide and even 4th sprinting on the Churchill Downs dirt. She had shown some ability when debuting on the Gulfstream grass March 30, is working well locally, and Jose Ortiz aboard for the hot Bill Mott (27-7-4-3 at the meet).
4th pick: #6 (New and Improved) (7-2) - The second of the fillies from trainer Chad Brown, and she debuts off of a half-dozen local works since June 15. Barn has won with 42 of 212 (20%) with first-time-starters in 2018-19 and has Javier Castellano is aboard for this attempt. Brown has gone 54-11-15-13 so far at the meet and looks well on his way to another title at the Spa.
