Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (FAST GETAWAY) (5-2) - State-bred moves in with 'open' company following a visually impressive three-length win going six furlongs at Belmont June 25 facing fellow New York foals at the optional-$40K claimer/N2X condition. Consistent 5yo was racing off a seven-month layoff and is the choice to win right back.
2nd pick: #9 (Cryogenic) (7-2) - This Florida-bred ships from Gulfstream where he won a five-furlong sprint June 19 against fellow state-breds. He's gone 21-5-8-3 on the grass with most all of those races being at Gulfstream. Stalker draws a good outside post that will give Irad Ortiz, Jr. early options.
3rd pick: #6 (Morning Breez) (5-1) - The veteran was claimed here last August by Bob Klesaris and has gone 8-1-2-5 since the barn change. Stalker fits at this level and should factor with his normal effort.
4th pick: #7 (American Mandate) (4-1) - Colt ships from Kentucky in good form and will be racing on the grass for only the second time. That effort saw him miss by a length at this level Nov. 21 at Churchill Downs, and he's in the mix in his first-ever at the Spa.
