2nd pick: #10 (Mistress Ofthedark) (5-1) - Trainer Rudy Rodriguez has had a solid meet after a slow start during the first 16 racing days. This filly cost $250K this past May as a 2yo in training. He doesn't work his horses very fast, but amongst a series of average drills is a sharp half-mile gate breeze at Belmont Aug. 2nd.
3rd pick: #4 (One Call Away) (6-1) - She has a 'light' work tab, but drilled a bullet half-mile here Aug. 3rd. Well bred filly is from a capable barn (Tony Dutrow) and Castellano is aboard.
4th pick: #1 (Malibu Bonnie) (4-1) - From the Pletcher barn, daughter of Malibu Moon' cost $575,000 as a yearling here a year ago. A quick half-mile gate breeze Aug. 12th is noted.
5th pick: #3 (Moonlightnmidnight) (15-1) - Longshot has a steady series of a.m. drills and has been in training since late May. She worked just a tad faster than 'Malibu Bonnie' Aug. 12th. May grab a share at a big price.
