Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (JUMP FOR JOY) (5-2) - This hard-hitting mare moves up a bit in price after winning here going six furlongs for a $32K claiming tag July 18. It was her second back following a 4.5-month layoff, and she's now finished first or 2nd in 16 of 26 overall. She likes it here (4-2-1-0), and I think she can win right back.
2nd pick: #4 (I'll Take the Cake) (3-1) - This veteran ships up from Gulfstream where she tired after a troubled break when facing much tougher going a mile July 31. It was her first back following a pair of layoffs, and she takes a big drop in class while shortening up in distance. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Flat Awesome Jenny) (7-2) - Another that's taking a big drop while cutting back in distance, she won three straight sprints at Gulfstream during their Winter meet. Stretch runner is a late threat, and a fast and/or contested pace would help her style out.
4th pick: #1 (Solitary Gem) (6-1) - She doubles up in price in her first off a re-claim by Leah Gyarmati. She's had good success with this mare in the past and can factor from her ground-saving post.
