Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (FIG JELLY) (5-2) - He doesn't win very often, 2 for 25, but he has finished 2nd 10 times in 13 attempts when sprinting on the grass. Stakes placed several times, he missed by a 'neck' here at this distance facing tougher last August. Speed/stalker gets a slight edge with Irad Ortiz, Jr. taking the mount.
2nd pick: #4 (Tenure) (8-1) - Well-bred and lightly raced, this 4yo by 'Uncle Mo' has gone 6-2-3-0 in grass sprints. He missed by a 'nose' July 12 at Belmont traveling six furlongs for a $35K tag in his first start since Oct. 24. He runs first off a John Toscano, Jr. claim and enters off a bullet half-mile work Aug. 6. A win candidate despite the fact he's moving up in class.
3rd pick: #5 (Hurricane Hill) (6-1) - A New York-bred, he was a very sharp winner going six furlongs at Belmont June 28 facing $40K claimers at the 2l condition. It was his first race in just under seven months, and he's nicely spotted by Linda Rice and should receive a fast and/or contested pace to rally into.
4th pick: #1 (No Bang No Boom) (5-1) - He's part of a Wesley Ward trained entry with 1a-'Onthewaytonevrland.' On the sidelines since Oct. 12, he's working steadily and mostly above average for a trainer who has won with 14 of 74 (20%) off of long layoffs since Jan. 1 of 2019.
