Top pick: #7 (MERCER MILL MAE) (5-2) - Daughter of "Broken Vow" is only one of nine fillies that have started, and last out at Churchill she was beaten a "head" at this level & distance June 12. She's worked four times in the past 27 days with the latest pair coming on this surface. Nicely spotted by trainer Wesley Ward, and he has John Velazquez aboard.
2nd pick: #3 (No Shanks) (6-1) - Owner/trainer/breeder Mike Mareina has a good reputation with debuting stock, and this Fla-bred has a pair of sharp local back-to-back drills showing. Think she has a shot and will be a square price.
3rd pick: #1 (Militsa) (5-1) - Pete Vegso home-bred showed fine early speed before tiring badly when debuting at Belmont June 27. Daughter of "Yes It's True" has a trio of sharp local drills heading into this, and she breaks from the rail. She should be in this from start-to-finish.
4th pick: #2 (Fusaichi Red) (8-1) - The barn of George Weaver has been sending out almost all of it's horses at this meet in shape and competitive. This debuting daughter of "Fusaichi Pegasus" has some stamina type works surrounding a three-furlong bullet on the local training track in late June. Longshot possibilities.
