Top pick: #1 (COUSIN RICH) - Price-play has been competitive in all three starts when racing for a tag and last out had a poor start and a troubled trip. Trainer Dave Fawkes drops him down a bit in price and has put a pair of sharp works into this colt heading into this contest. Home-bred by "Cozzene" draws the inside post and can win this at a nice price.
2nd pick: #6 (Best Act) - Hasn't raced since late Feb. when he ran evenly at Gulfstream running for $75K. Trainer Chad Brown has had this horse working steadily here since mid-June and will drop him down a bit in price this afternoon. Barn wins at a 25% rate off of long layoffs and its good to see Dominguez take the re-ride on this 3-year-old.
3rd pick: #9 (Dodging) - The probable favorite has been competitive in his last three starts, including an even 3rd place finish at Belmont June 10 running for $65K. Working well on Long Island for this, trainer Bill Mott will drop him down a bit in price. Contender, but will be over-bet.
4th pick: #10 (Shoutout) - Gelding has good early speed and will be stretched out in distance and dropped into a claimer by trainer John Terranova. Has a pair of nice local works and 3-year-old by "Indian Charlie" should be in this from start to finish.
