Top pick: #2 (TO THE POINT) - Veteran mare tired at Belmont July 15 racing in a starter-allowance and finished almost 6 lengths back of today's rival No. 3 "Decennial". Race was her first in 70 days and earlier this year she reeled off a trio of solid races at Gulfstream and Belmont. Five-year-old may have needed her last start and its good to see trainer Dave Donk bring her back quickly for this attempt. Has a good shot to knock off the favorite, and at a square price.
2nd pick: #3 (Decennial) - The probable heavy favorite has won two in a row at Belmont and is 4-3-0-0 overall in her turf races. Lightly raced, well-bred, and comes off a career best July 15. Has a nice local work and it would be no surprise if she won this.
3rd pick: #8 (Paper Shredder) - Louisiana invader has excellent early speed and on New Year's Day went wire-to-wire in an entry-level allowance at Calder. She's won 6 of 11 starts on the turf and fits this group nicely.
