Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (COAL FRONT) (8-5) - Undefeated ( 2-for-2) colt steps up into stakes company for the first time. $575,000 son of 'Stay Thirsty' won his debut by 6.5 lengths going six furlongs at Keeneland April 20. Heavily backed that day, the distant second place finisher broke his own maiden next out. Trainer Todd Pletcher brought this 3-year-old to Belmont where he won a first-level allowance at this 6.5 furlong distance June 8. The figure earned was the highest any of these has reached and he has unlimited potential at this point.
2nd pick: #6 (Toga Challenger) (7-2) - Competitive in all five starts facing weaker, he's won three of those and has finished second in the other two. He won an allowance at Belmont June 29 and earned a very high figure. In shape and his outside post for his stalking style is a plus.
3rd pick: #1 (Singing Bullet) (8-1) - Churchill shipper was an easy winner there at this trip facing weaker on a sloppy surface June 23. It was his first race since Oct. 30 and by far a career best. Impressive score came with lasix administered for the first time and he's from a very good barn (Dale Romans).
