Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (MOONDANCE JOY) (6-1) - This veteran mare won at this tag and trip on a muddy surface June 20 at Belmont Park in her first off a Rob Atras claim. In her follow up there July 7, she came up a 'head' short to this afternoon's rival 'Wildcat Belle'. This 7yo stalker has the rail, has gone 11-3-2-2 on wet tracks, and she should get a fast/and or contested pace to sit off of.
2nd pick: #4 (Malarkey) (4-1) - A speedy 4yo by 'Maclean's Music', she missed by a 1/2 length to 'Moondance Joy' at this level June 20 at Belmont. Claimed that afternoon by Gary Gullo, he's freshened her up and she won her only previous local appearance. Gullo has won with 9-of-45 (20%) fresh off the claim in 2018-19 and it's noted that he has Irad Ortiz Jr aboard.
3rd pick: #6 (Wildcat Belle) (5-1) - This mare defeated 'Moondance Joy' by a 'head' July 7 at Belmont after finishing 3 lengths behind her June 20. A veteran speed/stalker, she finished 2nd here in her only previous local attempt and is 8-1-2-2 on wet tracks in the past.
4th pick: #8 (Ivy's College Fund) (8-1) - She ships up from Monmouth Park where she's won both starts since coming off a 5.5 month layoff June 2. Once classier type breezed here July 9 and it's noted that trainer Bruce Levine has Jose Ortiz taking the mount.
