2nd pick: #12 (Laurel Heights) (7-2) - Freshened up since May 26, trainer Chad Brown is dropping this $180,000 purchase into a claimer for the first time. She's finished 4th in her first pair facing tougher and could win this if able to avoid a wide trip from this outside slot.
3rd pick: #9 (Spa Duchess) (20-1) - Longshot is racing third back from a nine-month layoff. She made up some ground last out while very wide and should be nearing her best. However, her no speed style and outside post are negatives. A fast and/or contested pace would help her chances out.
4th pick: #10 (Flying K C ) (8-1) - This is start number 16 overall and her 12th on the grass as she tries to get her maiden win. Competitive in most of her attempts on the turf, she went 3-0-2-1 at the recently concluded spring/summer meet at Belmont.
5th pick: #4 (Bareequa) (12-1) - Filly has no early speed, but has made up good ground in her last pair on the Belmont grass. Improving and capable of getting a share with a stretch rally.
