Top pick: #5 (SKIPPING) (4-1) - Lightly-raced filly has been competitive in all four starts and enters off a third place finish at Belmont at this level going 6-furlongs on July 3rd. It was her second off a 7 1/2 month layoff, first on the turf, and she gets a slight edge.
nd pick: #4 (D'Kennesaw Cat) (5-1) - Very fast from the gate, she's finished second in four straight starts and did so on May 18th at Belmont in her only previous grass sprint. Improving and filly should be involved from gate-to-wire.
rd pick: #1 (Orient Harbor) (3-1) - Janney home bred ran second at Belmont at this level going 6-furlongs at Belmont on July 3rd. It was her first off a seven week break and this improving filly breaks from the rail. Stretch threat.
th pick: #2 (Street Trick) (12-1) - Longshot moves back to the turf after an even effort last out at this level in an off the grass contest on June 13th. Her grass sprints fit with these and 4-year-old can factor at a big price.
th pick: #12 (Julie's Jewelry) (10-1) - From the same barn (Chris Clement) as "Skipping," and the pair race uncoupled. Daughter of "Distorted Humor" hasn't raced since last October and will be trying the grass for the first time. She showed fine early speed in her only start and may impact today at long odds if ready.
