Top pick: #3 (CAN'THELPBELIEVING) (6-5) - Irish bred import has run well in all of his starts 6-1-3-1 and long-winded 3-year-old has been freshened up since finishing third in a $200K stakes at Penn national on May 26th. Training nicely at Fair Hill and this 11-furlong distance is a nice fit for this strong closer. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (My Afleet) (12-1) - Longshot is lightly raced and has been showing steady improvement for Maryland-based trainer Jim Lawrence. Grey gelding is the type that can run all day and he has much more positional speed than most.
3rd pick: #7 (Papy) (6-1) - Home bred by the long-winded "Dynaformer" is an even-paced type and should have little problem handling this 11-furlong distance. Gelding has finished within range in two straight at this level at Belmont and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #5 (Protection) (12-1) - This gelding does have some ability and is from the barn of Hall of Fame trainer Jonathan Sheppard. Longshot can grab a share of this at a big price with one of his better efforts.
