Top pick: #3 (OGERMEISTER) (7-2) - Gelding appears to be rounding to form after coming back from a half-year's absence in late April. Stalker finished third here on the dirt facing tougher Aug 16 and is brought back quickly and switches to the grass for owner/trainer Dave Jacobson.
2nd pick: #7 (Malibu Charlie) (7-5) - The probable favorite, he's lightly raced and very fast from the gate. Freshened up for the past 2 1/2-months, he's working fast and is dropping in class for this attempt. His last pair of published a.m. drills were bullets and 5-year-old is a win threat on the front end.
3rd pick: #2 (Greeley Pack) (20-1) - Long shot almost always races evenly, but has finished well within range in two of his last three starts at this level. Trainer Kathy Feron adds blinkers and he's only one of two entered with a previous win on this course.
4th pick: #8 (Prophet's Cat) (12-1) - He raced evenly here last out after being bumped at the break. Veteran had finished third in his previous pair at this level when racing on the Belmont turf and must be left in the mix at a big price.
