Top pick: #3 (AMBER COAST) (4-1) - Gelding by "Speightstown" runs first off a Dom Galluscuo claim (19), and last out he was very "hard to handle" while racing wide after breaking from an outside post. He's worked since, and I like his chances.
2nd pick: #7 (Bedouin Now) (2-1) - He tired badly here in a nine furlong dirt contest on July 24, and was claimed that day by Mike Maker for $35K. New trainer brings him back well under the purchase price, but he's done that on a regular basis at this meet. Win candidate as he moves back to the dirt.
3rd pick: #1 (Knock Quietly) (10-1) - Longshot draws the rail and comes off an even fourth place finish here at this tag & trip just eight days ago. I like the quick turnaround, and this veteran has been competitive against better fields than this in the past.
4th pick: #10 (So Outspoken) (5-2) - Lightly raced and well-bred, 3yo by "Bernardini" broke his maiden here at this trip just nine days ago, and the leading trainer at this meet (Todd Pletcher) brings him back on a very short turnaround. Obvious contender, but will be over-bet.
