2nd pick: #2 (Rockford) (6-1) - Veteran always comes to compete and he has an excellent record on conventional dirt (25-7-5-3). One-run type rallied to finish third here facing weaker Aug 14. It was only his second start since early April and he was claimed by Bob Barbara. It's noted that John Velazquez gets aboard.
3rd pick: #7 (Narvaez) (3-1) - He's racing first of a Steve Klesaris claim (16%) and a subsequent 10 week freshening. Grey gelding has gone 16-3-4-5 over the past 19.5 months and is a major threat with his "A" game.
4th pick: #6 (Sam Sparkle) (9-2) - Even paced type has a bit of 'hang' in him at crunch time. However, he's drooping way down in class following a solid third-place finish here against tougher July 30. The drop makes him very dangerous.
