The fractions were fast and contested and the figure earned was solid. The effort was complimented when the winner that day score here earlier in the meet.
2nd pick: #2 (Will Did It) (8-1) - Longshot has had a lot of chances (18) and is racing today off just under a seven week break, Four-year-old has some fine works showing for his return and should like this seven-furlong trip. Hall of Fame trainer Wayne Lukas is dropping him into a claimer for his local debut. In his only other start for a tag, he ran second at Churchill going a mile May 30.
3rd pick: #3 (Kohlhase) (9-2) - He's now past the 4.5 year mark in age and has only made one start. That was almost a year ago here when he tired facing tougher. Son of 'Minshaft' is working above average for his return and trainer Rudy Rodriguez has been on a good roll the past two weeks.
4th pick: #4 (Enduring Warrior) (8-1) - One of the top trainers on the mid-west circuit (Brad Cox) has a few here for the first time. He's gone 5-2-1-1 so far and is dropping this colt in class and is adding blinkers. Well backed in all three starts, 3-year-old worked a swift half-mile Aug 7 at Churchill before coming to the 'Spa.'
5th pick: #5 (Justalittlrbitmore) (7-2) - He has some early speed and will be shortening up in distance and dropping in class. 3-year-old is racing second off a two month freshening and is dangerous with his best.
