Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (POCKET BOOK) (2-1) - Gulfstream shipper had a very sharp debut there June 11. Racing at this level going five furlongs, she broke sharply, battled every step, and was beaten by a 'neck' in the last few strides. Race was run in very fast time and filly earned an excellent figure for a 2-year-old. A repeat of that effort wins this.
2nd pick: #1 (Latrevo) (7-2) - Well backed when debuting at Belmont July 7, she raced greenly while checking in third at this level in a contest that was moved 'off the turf.' Bred for the grass, she's on the rail and trainer Rick Violette Jr. is having a solid meet 9-2-3-0 from his smallish barn.
3rd pick: #2 (Bridaled Temper) (5-1) - One of eight making their debuts, daughter of 'War Front' has some impressive works on view and trainer Mark Casse has Javier Castellano signed on.
4th pick: #9 (Wild N Ready) (8-1) - Daughter of Kentucky Derby winner 'Animal Kingdom' has been in steady training since May. She cost $300,000 last Sept. and hails from a capable first out barn of Graham Motion (20%).
