2nd pick: #6 (Bastet) (5-2) - This lightly raced filly is one of two entered by Bill Mott, and the pair race uncoupled. Well backed in both attempts, she rallied to finish 3rd of 11, missing by two lengths when traveling seven furlongs at Belmont July 4. The 3yo stretches out in distance, and John Velazquez gets aboard.
3rd pick: #4 (Lady Rosalie) (8-1) - Irish import is the only 4yo entered. She ships up from Monmouth where she checked in a non-threatening 4th at this level and distance July 17. It was her first start in eight months, and she had finished close up in five straight prior to the layoff. In the mix.
4th pick: #3 (L'Indiscret) (5-1) - This beautifully bred filly rallied to finish a length behind today's rival, 'Bastet,' when going seven furlongs at Belmont July 4. It was a big move forward off her debut at Gulfstream, and you get the team of Barclay Tagg/Manny Franco, who won yesterday's Travers Stakes with 'Tiz the Law.' This daughter of 'War Front' is capable with some further improvement.
