Colt missed by a 'nose' in a follow up start at Belmont June 5. Working nicely since, he has a recency edge on several of his main rivals. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #7 (Zennor) (6-1) - Godolphin home bred has plenty of early speed and is training fast locally for his first start since late October. Grey son of 'Medaglia d'Oro' should be in this from start-to-finish if ready.
3rd pick: #9 (Take Cover) (6-1) - Son of 'War Front' has been freshened up since May 22. Colt rallied to miss by a 'neck' that afternoon going 6-furlongs on the Belmont turf. Training well for his return, he's attempting a two-turn distance for the first time. His trainer, Hall of Fame member Bill Mott has had a great start here at the 'Spa' 32-8-8-4.
4th pick: #6 (Caged) (15-1) - Long shot returns off a 4 1/2 month layoff as a NEW gelding. Speedy sort went 4-0-3-1 racing at Tampa Bay Downs last winter running on both dirt and turf. He cost $750,000 and 3-year-old by 'Indian Charlie' can factor in here at a big price.
