Top pick: #1 (RAVEN RISE) (5-1) - Stalker comes off a career best when she finished 4th of 11, beaten one length racing at this level and distance on July 7th at Belmont. She may have been best as filly was "bumped" at the start and had to race four-wide after that incident. Encouraging effort was her first ever on the grass, second back from a 4 1/2 month break, and she gets "top billing" in a competitive contest.
nd pick: #3 (Eddy's Time) (5-2) - The possible favorite, she's run well in all four starts and last out was a neck better than "Raven." That was a career best and it was her first ever going beyond 6 furlongs. Major player.
rd pick: #4 (Left Uppercut) (12-1) - Five-year-old home-bred has good early speed and is another coming off a career best performance. Last out at Belmont she finished second at this level going 1 1/8th miles and she could be in this a long ways at a big price.
th pick: #7 (Done Smoking) (4-1) - Daughter of "Smoke Glacken" rallied to finish fourth when debuting at this level at Belmont on June 30th going 6 furlongs on the turf. Great grass barn (Chris Clement) has worked her three times since and stretches her out in distance (a 27% winning move by the trainer).
th pick: #6 (Chrissy Girl) (5-2) - Nicely-bred filly rallied to just miss last out and she was just ahead of both "Raven" and "Eddy" that afternoon. Daughter of "Giant's Causeway" has worked well since and would benefit the most if the pace was fast/and or contested.
