Top pick: #5 (BE A HERO) (2-1) - The morning line favorite, he's been on the sidelines since April 30 when he raced evenly at Churchill Downs facing tougher. 5yo had gone 4-2-1-1 prior to that and faced some pretty tough competition this past winter/spring at Oaklawn Park. Can take this if ready with his best.
2nd pick: #4 (Flag on the Play) (5-2) - He was bred to be a good horse and has improved considerably since being claimed by trainer Jay Servis for $25K on March 19. Speed/stalker has been freshened up since June 11 when he missed by a 'neck' racing at this tag going 6-furlongs at Belmont. He should enjoy this 7-furlong distance and is a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Towering Moon) (10-1) - He's cutting back in distance after a series of five longer races dating back to late January. His lack of speed is apparent, and veteran will need a fast and/or contested pace for a strong shot at the top spot.
4th pick: #7 (Borseggiatore) (8-1) - He's won at this tag and trip in the past. Stalker scored May 24 at Belmont to clear the 2l condition, then raced evenly last out while checking in 4th of seven, beaten three lengths at Belmont going 8.5-furlongs June 19. Fits with his best and he has a great outside post for this 7-furlong contest out of the chute.
