Top pick: #6 (HORATIO) (7-2) - He's always had ability, but earlier in his career he was a bit hard to handle and often raced a bit "rank." Much improved since switching to the barn of veteran Jimmy Toner, and both of this 4yos wins have come at this distance.
2nd pick: #3 (Jeter) (5-1) - One of two entered by trainer Dave Jacobson, and the pair race uncoupled. Stalker ships from Monmouth off a near miss against weaker on July 12 in his first off a Jacobson claim and a subsequent three month layoff. Can factor at a square price.
3rd pick: #2 (Noble Cornerstone) (5-2) - Very lightly raced home bred has talent and comes off a hard fought win at Belmont going a mile on June 19. This field is much tougher, but this gelding still has room for upside.
4th pick: #5 (Leilani's Ticket) (10-1) - Longshot has some speed and is going turf to dirt this afternoon. He's racing back into shape following a layoff and had a bullet five-furlong breeze at Belmont on July 19.
