Top pick: #7 (FIRST SUMMATION) (2-1) - With the scratch of the presumed favorite (No. 10 "Ainteasybeinggreen"), race has only two of eight who have run before. This filly has some sharp works showing as trainer Chris Clement prepares her for her debut, including a 3-furlong bullet gate breeze at Belmont on Aug. 7. Barn does well first out (21%) and home-bred gets the call.
2nd pick: #5 (Missy Bay) (3-1) - Home-bred by "Posse" has a trio of sharp local works this month and her trainer (Dom Schettino) wins at a 21% rate first out. He has J.J. Castellano aboard and the trainer/jockey combo wins at a 26% clip when teamed up.
3rd pick: #3 (Honeychild) (7-2) - One of two that have raced before and she showed good early speed before tiring to finish fourth here at this level and distance on the main-track July 31st. Trainer Ken McPeek adds lasix and switches her to the grass.
4th pick: #4 (Sassy Salsa) (15-1) - Daughter of "Henny Hughes" showed nothing when debuting here on the dirt Aug. 16 and she'll be moving to the turf with lasix added. Away slowly first out she had to race very wide following that miscue.
