2nd pick: #4 (Hexameter) (5-1) - Speedy sort moves up in class after an easy gate-to-wire win here at this distance facing $40K claimers at the 2l condition. It was her first race in 2.5 months, and she came back with a quick half-mile breeze Aug. 16. With Luis Saez opting for 'Maho Bay,' Ricardo Santana, Jr. takes over the riding assignment.
3rd pick: #6 (Leah's Dream) (6-1) - Speedy 4yo has been on the sidelines since July 4. She finished a pace-setting 2nd last out at this level and distance at Belmont Park. Filly should be in this from start-to-finish at a square price.
4th pick: #3 (Curiousncuriouser) (7-2) - An uncoupled barn-mate of 'Leah's Dream' (both are trained by Chris Englehart), she finished an even 4th here July 30. 4yo was almost five lengths behind 'Maho Bay' that afternoon, but had some serious problems at the break. It's noted that leading rider Irad Ortiz, Jr. is aboard for the first time.
