Top pick: #2 (SHANKOPOTAMUS) (5-2) - Speedy veteran has done well on this surface (4-1-2-1), and comes into this after setting a fast pace and holding to finish second at this tag & trip on July 27. Effort was complimented when the third place runner won next out here.
2nd pick: #1 (Radiohead) (3-1) - Dangerous rival, he has plenty of back class, and goes turf to dirt for trainer Dave Jacobson. The successful barn won a race here on Friday with a similar looking runner, and this speed/stalker breaks from the rail. Strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Non Stop) (5-1) - He's one of two entered by trainer Dave Cannizzo, and the pair race uncoupled. Gelding raced evenly here on July 27 in his first off a claim, and was only a length back of "Shankopotamus" at the finish. He's worked twice since and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #7 (St Liams Halo) (6-1) - The second of the Cannizzo pair, former stakes winner was claimed on May 16 for $35K, and returns 3 1/2 months later racing for a $20K tag. Needs to be sharp off the break, and believe even then a small slice may be his ceiling.
