Strong finisher has worked four times since and this Chad Brown trainee can take this with a clean break and trip.
2nd pick: #8 (T Loves a Fight) (4-1) - Ultra consistent veteran has won 10-of-28 starts on the dirt and dis so here at this distance July 14. In his follow up Aug. 4, he finished a close up fourth in a $100K stakes for fellow New York breds and is dangerous in this spot.
3rd pick: #11 (Performer) (3-1) - A lightly raced Phipp's home bred by 'Speightstown', he was a sharp maiden winner going 6 furlongs at Belmont June 29. Only his second start, it was his first since debuting Nov. 3 at Aqueduct. Colt's winning time last out was a swift 1:09.60 and he's been working fast since. 3yo may have a very bright future.
4th pick: #6 (Puttheglassdown) (6-1) - He missed by a 'neck' here at this level going 6 furlongs July 27. It was his second straight strong effort and it produced a career best figure. Colt has talent and must be left in the mix.
5th pick: #1 (Shamrocked) (12-1) - Very fast from the gate, he's gone 8-4-1-2 since he was claimed by Ray Handal for $16,000 in March of 2018. 5yo was an easy gate-to-wire winner at this distance July 3 at Belmont facing weaker and has been given a brief freshening, almost eight weeks. He fits and will be a big price.
