Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #10 (SHADY SHADY SHADY) (3-1) - She draws a tough post but comes off a second-place finish here when debuting in a turf sprint July 20. Trainer Michelle Nevin has worked her three times since and John Velazquez stays aboard. Home bred can win this if able to avoid a wide trip.
2nd pick: #7 (Mensa Member) (5-2) - One of four fillies making their debuts, this daughter of 'Flatter' sold for $200,000 here one year ago. Working steadily for leading trainer Chad Brown (20% first out), he has Jose Ortiz aboard and the pair has won with 57-of-204 (28%) when teamed up since the beginning of 2017. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Empress Sophia) (15-1) - Longshot switches to the grass and is stretching out in distance in her second attempt. $400,000 daughter of 'Bodemeister' showed nothing when debuting here in a dirt sprint at this level July 25, but has breezed three times since for 'Hall of Famer' Wayne Lukas (14% second time out). Look for a much better effort in this spot.
4th pick: #5 (Seven Jewels) (8-1) - Away slowly when debuting in a Belmont dirt sprint July 5, she finished a very distant third in a small field (5). Bred to handle the grass, daughter of 'Big Brown' is in a very good second-out barn of Brad Cox (24%).
