He had won his first two start of 2017, one each at Keeneland and Belmont after coming of a five month layoff April 27. He gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Hello Don Julio) (4-1) - Speed/stalker tired here going 11 furlongs in the Bowling Green Stakes (G2) July 29. Very sharp in five of six prior to that and he should be involved from gate-to-wire.
3rd pick: #2 (Black Sea) (7-2) - French import raced evenly here at this level going longer July 21. He was only beaten just under two lengths and trainer Chad Brown brings him back to make back-to-back starts for the first time since the summer of 2016 when he was still in Europe. Win candidate.
