Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (BANNER BILL) (2-1) - Veteran has worked five times here since July 15 for his first race since June 24. Old timer has gone 32-8-5-4 racing on the dirt primarily in the Midwest. Owner/trainer Dave Jacobson is dropping him in class and has leading rider Irad Ortiz Jr. aboard. This 7-year-old gelding draws the rail and that's the best post at this two-turn nine-furlong trip.
2nd pick: #3 (Sinistra) (6-1) - Following a very slow start at the meet, trainer Rudy Rodriguez has won six races over the past seven racing days. He's dropping this 6-year-old down in class after a wide trip from an outside post here facing tougher at this distance July 22.
3rd pick: #4 (Late Night Lu) (4-1) - The high-percentage barn of the Midwest based barn of Brad Cox is at Saratoga for the first time. He had a winner a week ago. He claimed this one-run type for $40,000 June 25 at Churchill Downs and runs him back for half the price. Gelding breezed a sharp half-mile here July 24 and Cox (22% first off the claim) runs him in a career soft spot. Dangerous today.
4th pick: #6 (A P Cino) (5-2) - Consistent sort has gone 8-2-4-1 since early February racing mostly at Penn National. The level and distance are fine and trainer Mike Trombetta has Jose Ortiz interested. Can factor, but believe he needs to step it up some in this spot.
