Daughter of 'City Zip' stretches back out after finishing 2nd at this level going seven furlongs at Belmont June 23. It was her first since Nov. 10 when she also ran 2nd, and that Aqueduct race was at this 8.5-furlong trip. She gets a small edge in this one.
2nd pick: #8 (Chestnut Street) (2-1) - The second of the fillies from trainer Chad Brown, she closed strongly to miss by a 'nose' going nine furlongs at Belmont June 24. It was only her second start, and this $210,000 daughter of 'Scat Daddy' completes a big hand to play from the leading trainer at the meet.
3rd pick: #3 (March Two Madness) (20-1) - Longshot has disappointed several times on the dirt, and trainer Mark Hennig has her racing on the turf for the first time. Bred for the surface change, she has more speed than most, and I think this daughter of 'Colonel John' can get a share at a big price.
4th pick: #7 (Spring Drama) (6-1) - Competitive in four straight, she missed by a 'neck' at this level and distance May 10 at Belmont. In her follow up there June 24, she 'hit the gate' at the break before rallying to finish 3rd, 5.5 lengths behind 'Chestnut Street.' 4yo can factor with a better beginning.
