Top pick: #5 (DEAN'S KITTEN) - Colt ran a big race last out at Belmont in his first on the turf and first in blinkers. Crafty barn (Mike Maker) stretches him out around two-turns today and names his main rider (Julien Leparoux). Can win this from on, or just off the top.
2nd pick: #11 (Novel Notion) - He raced wide and wasn't beaten much by the top pick last out and is a contender here if he scratches into the race ( as he's on the also-eligible list).
3rd pick: #3 (Vamoa a Ver) - Beautifully-bred colt has been working steadily for 2 1/2 months and attracts Ramon Dominguez for his debut. Trainer (Graham Motion) is more than capable with a first-timer and presence of Dominguez means colt is expected to run well.
4th pick: #8 (Paddy O'Prado) - Longshot had an "educational" debut in the slop at Churchill July 4th and will move to the turf ( a surface he's bred to love). Good barn (Dale Romans) has put a "bullet" 5 furlong drill into him on the training track turf course and he can impact here at a square price.
