Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (SINGAPORE TRADER) (6-1) - Longshot is taking a big step up in class in his first facing winners. Grey gelding was a 14 length maiden winner here going 7 furlongs on a wet track Aug. 12 in a contest that was taken 'off the turf'. From the Pletcher barn, he's brought back quickly, has a good post, and plenty of room for upside. Home bred by 'Flatter' has a good shot at a square price.
2nd pick: #5 (Spectacular Kid) (8-1) - A 'throw-back' type, he seems to thrive on keeping active and has gone 10-2-3-3 racing on the dirt. Stakes Placed many times, stalker ships from his home base of Finger Lakes and regular rider Andy Hernandez comes with him.
3rd pick: #7 (Sea Foam) (9-5) - He had an easy trip when going gate-to-wire July 21 when winning the New York Derby at Finger Lakes. He defeated a pair of today's rivals that afternoon and was 3.5 lengths clear of 'Spectacular Kid'. In career best form, he's the probable heavy favorite and is an obvious win candidate.
4th pick: #6 (Analyze the Odds) (5-1) - Colt ran evenly when finishing a non-threatening third in the New York Derby July 21 at Finger Lakes. He was just over 5 lengths back of 'Sea Foam' and 2 behind 'Spectacular Kid'. Unless he makes a huge move forward a minor award is his ceiling.
