Top pick: #4 (MRS HUDSON) (4-1) - Very lightly-raced filly has been freshened up since tiring to finish a distant third June 17 at Belmont racing at this level. Home bred was an impressive winner of her debut April 19 at Aqueduct and she has leading rider Irad Ortiz Jr. back on the re-ride.
2nd pick: #6 (Predicate) (8-1) - Consistent sort is racing herself back into shape after being out of action for almost eight months. Stretch runner has been competitive against tougher fields than this in the past and should get a fast and/or contested pace to close into.
3rd pick: #1 (Excuse My French) (2-1) - She was a good-looking debut winner here Aug 5 going 6-furlongs. She rated a bit early on, went to the front when asked, then maintained a steady advantage to win by 1 1/21 lengths. The figure earned was high for a maiden and she's a threat right back.
4th pick: #2 (Eloquent Tribute) (8-1) - Long shot raced evenly here at this level going 5.5-furlongs on the turf Aug 3. It was her first start since March 15 when she ran second in a $100K stakes on the Aqueduct dirt. Fits and that grass race here may have just been for conditioning purposes.
