Top pick: #9 (MISSILE NICK) - "Nick" made what looked like a wide winning move last out but it was on a day when the inside was "king." Many that afternoon did the same and tired badly, but this lightly-raced gelding continued on with good courage to finish third, beaten just under two lengths.
2nd pick: #7 (Charging Order) - He takes the big plunge into maiden claimers for the first time after showing solid early speed in a pair facing tougher. He had a terible post (13th of 13) last out and draws much better today. I almost put him on top.
3rd pick: #4 (Rockheaded) - Runs first off a Rudy Rodriguez claim (a 22% winning angle) and this gelding raced evenly after being a bit "hard to load" here on a muddy surface July 28th. Race was his first in 3 1/2 months and he should move forward off of it.
