Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (BUSINESS CYCLE) (2-1) - Very lightly-raced 5yo is one of two entered in this contest by leading trainer Chad Brown and the pair race uncoupled. The gelding by 'Tapit' has finished second in both starts and did so here going 7 furlongs Aug. 4. Training fast since he'll be tough to beat in this spot.
2nd pick: #1 (Allured) (9-2) - The second of the pair from Chad Brown, he's been on the sidelines since Nov. 11. $600,000 son of 'Flatter' finished second in two of three starts in 2017 and did so here when debuting Aug. 19. Training steadily, Brown wins at a solid 27% following long layoffs and leading rider Irad Ortiz Jr. is aboard. Dangerous if ready.
3rd pick: #8 (Brasstown) (12-1) - Longshot ships from Monmouth Park where he's been working very fast for his first since July 8. $230,000 gelding by 'Tiznow' has a new trainer, Jorge Navarro (24%) with new arrivals and this 3yo has been showing early speed in his starts. May be in this from gate-to-wire at a big price.
4th pick: #9 (House Limit) (8-1) - The field's only first-time-starter, home bred has some very quick local works on view. From a capable barn (Jimmy Jerkens), if this 3yo by 'First Defence is ready he should impact from his fine outside post.
