Top pick: #3 (BROTHER BOB) - He had a "troubled" start and tired after chasing a fast pace when debuting at Monmouth on July 8th. He's since come back with a bullet half-mile work at Fair Hill 6 days ago and trainer Mike Trombetta reaches out to Dominguez. The trainer/rider team is a strong one, winning at a 26% clip over the past 19 months.
2nd pick: #2 (River Cruising) - Debuting home-bred by "Five Star Day" is in a capable barn (Al Stall Jr) and this colt has been in steady training since late April. He looks well-prepared and Rosie Napravnik wins at a solid 25% rate when riding for Stall.
3rd pick: #4 (Zaccheus) - Lasix is added for this after this colt by "Hard Spun" didn't show much in his debut. Colt moves off the rail and his trainer (Jimmy Jerkens) has always been better 2nd time out.
