Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (BENEVOLENCE) (3-1) - He's one of two entered by Kiaran McLaughlin and the pair race uncoupled. Trainer has started this meet winning with six of his first eight starters. This gelding missed by a 1/2 length racing at this level and distance June 4 at Belmont Park. By far a career best, he gets a slight edge in a competitive contest.
2nd pick: #9 (Samadi Sky) (4-1) - Lightly-raced 3-year-old, prompted the pace, bid strongly at the head of the stretch, then had to settle for the place spot June 25 at Belmont. It was only his second start and first since debuting July 11 of 2015. Working fast for this and he's a serious win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Only You) (7-2) - Home bred is cutting back in distance after missing by a 1/2 length June 17 at Belmont going a mile at this level. Heavily backed in both starts, he should factor again in this shorter contest.
4th pick: #1 (Royal Ekati) (8-1) - I liked him last out but he offered only a mild late rally when check in third, almost four lengths in back of 'Only You.' Working very fast since, he has the rail and is shortening up in distance. It's a plus that Javier Castellano stays aboard.
