Top pick: #1 (BRABBHAM) (5-2) - He's part of a Darley Stable trained entrt with No. 1a "Lochte" and trainer Kiaran has jockey Jose Ortiz Jr. listed on both halves, so only one will run. Son of "Bernardini" cost $1.2M and ran strongly last out at Belmont. Has the rail and is bred to love this 1 1/8th mile distance.
2nd pick: #5 (Sliver and Onions) (3-1) - Grey colt has finished second in both appearances, the latest coming at Belmont going a "flat" mile on July 6th. He'll be trying a two-turn distanvce for the first time and is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (King of Broadway) (6-1) - Colt ran well when finishing 5th of 12, beaten 3 1/2 lengths when debuting going 7 furlongs at Churchill Downs on the "Derby Day" undercard (May 4th). On the sidelines since, he's working way above average for this two-turn attempt and is bred to like this trip.
4th pick: #4 (Dyker Beach) (4-1) - A bit on the unreliable side, he's finished second in half of his eight starts and has been freshened up since June 8th. Gelding by "Curlin" is working fast locally and trainer Nick Zito will add blinkers for the first time.
