Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (HANDSOME CHEWY) (8-1) - Longshot drops after tiring while wide facing tougher here at this distance Aug. 6. He's worked fast since, moves from an outside post to the rail, and the colt is from a winning barn (Marc Vitali). He has a good shot at a square price.
2nd pick: #3 (Cadillac Frankie) (9-5) - Debuting colt has been working steadily here since the training track opened in mid-May. Most of the drills are of a stamina-building type but a pair during July indicate that he has some speed to offer. It's noted that Rudy Rodriguez has leading rider Irad Ortiz Jr aboard.
3rd pick: #6 (Not That Brady) (2-1) - Gelding by 'Big Brown' cost $135,000 a year ago and runs first out for a $50K price tag. Capable barn (George Weaver) wins at an 18% first out and he had this gelding work a near bullet half-mile from the gate July 9. In the mix.
4th pick: #2 (The Sicarii) (7-2) - Blinkers go on after colt has had problems breaking cleanly in both attempts. Barn (Tony Quartarolo) has won three times at the meet and this son of 'Violence' may be in this from gate-to-wire with an alert beginning.
